Like I said...thrift stores usually have a few mugs available on the cheap...just a couple, here and there. ;)

So I decided to buy a few cuties and create suet feeders to hang in our yard! After running my purchases through the dishwasher, I grabbed sticks from my yard (hello, yard work for a project!) to create freebie perches.

I filled each mug half full with bird seed and added melted suet.
Then, I poured melted beef fat into my mugs and placed them in the fridge to harden.

After about an hour, I had my feeder, which I hung from a tree in our yard. Check out my original blog post for all the details!

I checked it a few days later, and the birds had definitely discovered it! :) I can't wait to make this again, winter after winter!
