Great Idea for an Old Window!

I love old windows! Whether they still have their glass or not, old windows make charming accents for your home. Sometimes they need a little tlc before hanging on your walls though. Here's one way to update an old

This old window was found in my mother-in-law's neighbor's back yard in NC. The glass was broken and most of the original paint was gone, but I was still delighted to get it. ..for free!

It definitely needed some love. While it was structurally intact, it was down to the bare wood. I started by cleaning all the dust and dirt of with a stiff brush.

Next I dry brushed it using my favorite turquoise paint. I left lots of the bare wood exposed because I wanted it to look weathered. ..like the paint had gradually come off over time. To see how I finished this piece, please visit the link below.
