Rusty Tin Can Planters

How to make rusty tin can to use as planters for succulents

I have been wanting to learn how to make some rusty tin cans to craft with so I searched the web till I found a way to make my own rusty cans. I finally found a recipe that works. Depending on how rusty you want your can, is how many times you will have to repeat the process.

You will need some tin cans, salt, and Hydrogen Peroxide to make your own rusty tin cans.
Spray your tin cans with Hydrogen Peroxide then sprinkle salt over the cans, and wait.

The cans above are going through the second process. The recipe that I found said that it works better if you let it sit outside in direct sunlight, but I haven’t tried it that way yet.

To get my tin cans this rusty I had to go through the process about 5-6 times.
I then added a couple of key's and a washer that had a patina with some jute, filled with potting soil and my succulents. I love how they turned out!
