How to Hide a Door

We redecorated our sun room but couldnt remove the old back door as it will need to be opened as behind it is the top of the basement stairs and the only way to get furniture up or down is through the door.

I screwed a 2x4 across the bottom of the door which is hidden by the sofa and lifts the mirror high enough to cover the top of the door.

I then tiled around the outside edge. The mirror can be removed and the door opened with out disturbing the tiles.
