Heart Art From Old Spindles

Spindles from old chairs are so cool - even when they have parted from the chair! I found a pile of them in my Uncle's barn and no way could I let them be tossed onto the burn pile! So I carted them home and added them to my 'stash'. When I wanted to create a Valentine's art piece I pulled out the spindles, determined to create a heart design with them. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out!

A random assortment of spindles, a few the same size and shape, some slender and elegant, others chunky and stout!

I used a heart cutout as a guide and marked with a pen where I wanted each spindle cut.
