I found an old beat up and rusty umbrella picnic table (top) in a junk pile one day. As an artist I saw this as a wonderful way to create a large piece of art for the wall.I rolled the table top home, wet sanded it down with .22 grain sand paper until the majority of the rust was gone. Then gave it a coat of primer. After primer was dry - I donned my spray paint air mask and began to create.I let the paint dry ever so often and then would paint some more, in this way building up dimension. I also used newspaper to add texture to the blue and green painted areas. To add stars before sealing the paint I splattered white paint over the surface.
Ta - Da! Wall Art from Trash.
Please bear with me, for the bare bone post for now. It is my first post, I will post one with more full directions and more photos next time.
