Maybe I made some poster-type signs in school, but I can't even remember if that's true.
Did you have a stencilled sign like this back in the day? I bought this one way back in the 80s and it's been in a closet for years. I decided it was finally time to give it a makeover.
The easiest way to do this is to place the pages where you want them and press down on the edges of the sign to make lines in the paper. No measuring required. Then simply cut at the lines.
I wanted a classic song about love so I chose Smoke Gets In Your Eyes. Not that anyone will be reading the music , but I'll know it 's there.
Seems kinda backwards to be covering up hearts for a Valentine's Day project. lol. There's nothing wrong with this sign, but the style hasn't been me in years.
My L is a very vintage wall hook; the O is a vintage and oh so beautifully aged cookie cutter from my large and growing collection; the V is made of 2 springs; and the E is some junky pieces and a back plate for a drawer pull
I dug into my vintage costume pearl necklaces stash to see what I could find to dress it up.
It's all about the love and it isn't 'blocking out the scenery', or 'breakin' my mind'. lol. Now I think I'm hooked, and there will definitely be more junk Signs in my future.
